Merritts scattered data forms

First i created a form and asked:
Name
How many pets do you have?
What is your favorite\lucky number?
I chose the first question because it was interesting and it would be good to graph on the x axis. I chose the question what is your lucky number because it was unique from what everyone elses question and it would be interesting to see the average lucky number and the lucky numbers all mapped out.

Then after i collected responses, I made a chart of my data. Here is the scatter plot:

Here is my work on finding the slope of my line of fit:

I used the two equations y1-y2 over x1-x2 to get my slope of 19. Then i used the equation y=mx+b to get the equation 13=19-6

Then i entered my data on the graphing calculator.

The correlation between my two questions was positive but very close to zero.  There wasn't much correlation though because the amount of pets you have usually does not depend on your lucky number. 

A type of question that could be answered on my line of best fit is if your lucky number was higher, would it have an impact on the amount of pets you had, or vise-versa.

Chapter 4 vocab

adding and subtracting integers

(always start out with the bigger number, then subtract the smaller number to find the answer and add the bigger numbers -/+ to it. )

How to solve:

5+-8

you take eight and subtract five, and get three. then you add a negative (-) to the three because there were more negatives than posotives in this case. so the answer is: -3.

-4+10

You take 10 and subtract 4 and get 6.

4-9

You take 9 and take away 4 to get 5. then add a (-), in this case they were both posotive #s but the bigger number was being subtracted so the number was negative.

-8-(-9)

the rule for subtracting negatives is just to add the two negative numbers together to get an even bigger negative.

In math class we all made different avatars for our status picture. i used the meez site. Its a really cool and free site that you can use to make detailed 3 d moving avatars.

Twiducate is like twitter but its for schools.
